Scene 01: Stills & Storyboard

These are stills of each scene with their corresponding picture of the storyboard. I think despite the difference of artistic quality in film still and storyboard, it is odd and interesting to see them compared as they look extremely similar. Here is the link to the first scene in complete:

Notice for the first two close-ups that Hiko is actually breathing. Her chest is moving. In the folling close-up after though, she's not breathing anymore. She spotted the cow, so of corse she's holding her breath ^^. But her eyes are moving.

Scene 01 Sequence 08 - Background colouring

Finally I finished this rather complicated background of the opening scene. It shows the street of Hiko's house.

After feedback on this scene, I made the version above where Hiko doesn't look straight into the camera.The difference in the picture is only very small, but the effect changes a lot. When she is looking straight into the camera making eye contact with the viewer, the viewer might feel slightly uncomfortable as he is being directly confronted and looked at. I haven't decided yet, which version I will use as actually I purposely made her looking into the camera.

Scene 01 Sequence 01
This scene is a reuse. For the opening shot it will be a still and in the reuse, there is only very little animation too. So I am not sure yet, whether I should leave it as simple as this, so it will match to the following animation, or whether I should make it look more elaborate and paint the character in the style of my backgrounds.
